Who we are — in brief:
The apostle Paul made it clear that Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church (Eph. 5:23). Christ Himself also made it clear that “He would build His Church and the gates of the grave would never prevail against it.  Logically then, that Church must still be around today, operating under the Family name and doing His bidding (Mt. 16:18; Acts 20:28). Consequently, after 40+ years of Laodicean division, the Signet Church of God now emerges as Christ’s loyal Wife-to-be determined to finish the job! (Zech. 4:9)

Why we became necessary — in brief:

After Mr. Armstrong died the 7th Church era took center stage. The fruits of that succession have been bad ever since. So bad, in fact, that it has often looked like the gates of the grave would prevail after all. Thankfully, however, there are many verses that reveal God’s keen desire to fix this problem (i.e. Mt. 25:6; I Cor. 12:25; Rev. 3:18-21).

To that end God is now sending in the SCG to spearhead this revival! To understand why, we have to realize that Jesus Christ is NOT going to marry many divided and dysfunctional churches at His return (Mt. 22:1-14). He is going to marry that one loyal Church who has readied herself for marriage by finishing what His modern Zerubbabel started during the 6th Church era! (Zech. 4:9; Rev. 19:7).

We know who we are and what we have to do:

Herbert Armstrong set the bar during the 20th century for how to succeed in the God Family business (Luke 2:49; Rev. 3:7-11). But after some 40+ years of lukewarmness, most of God’s people have forgotten about his role as the modern Zerubbabel — how he built God’s Church God’s way and taught us to do the same (Mt. 24:14; 28:19-20). This is precisely why we are called the Signet Church of God. To succeed with what he started, we know that we are going to have to revive his building method. In other words, to attain God’s Signet stamp of approval on our efforts, we are going to have to build like he did (Hag. 2:23; Zech. 4:6-10).

How will we “finish God’s house”?
Like Herbert Armstrong, we are going to follow Jesus Christ’s lead (Mt. 16:18). Our Boss spelled out long ago what we should be doing to build the Church in verses like Matthew 24:14: 28:19-20; Mark 13:10 and Revelation 10:11. And what made these instructions so easy to follow for men like Peter, John, Paul and Herbert Armstrong was the fact that Jesus Christ personally demonstrated how to do His Father’s business during His earthly ministry (Mt. 4:23; 9:35; Mark 1:14; Luke 2:49; 9:11; 20:1).

Beyond that, we also have the case history of a modern mentor who fully understood Christ’s instructions and then demonstrated that understanding by doing the very same things (I Cor. 11:1; Rev. 3:7-8, 11). While he was at it he also taught many others to follow in his footsteps at Ambassador College, the educational arm of the Worldwide Church of God. Sadly, however, UNTIL NOW none of those trainees has been willing or able to walk that same walk!

How you can help
If you are starting to see once again why God called you out of this world during this present evil age (Luke 9:62; Gal. 1:4), then it should also be clear that it is now time to get busy once again doing and supporting God’s Work — supporting the Signet Church of God in any and every way you can.

Yes, God’s precious flock still needs to be fed and we certainly intend to do that to the best of our ability (Acts 20:28; I Pet. 5:2). But our first commission of preaching the good news of the soon coming Kingdom of God needs to be urgently revived and directed outward once again so that God’s house can be finished as required (Zech. 4:9; Mt. 16:18; Rev. 10:11).

All this and much, much more is explained in great detail in Zechariah and The Signet.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this Rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Mt. 16:18)

Who was Herbert W. Armstrong?

Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986) was the founder and leader of the Worldwide Church of God from ~1933 to 1986. But when we say “founder,” we mean that in a very specific way.

Consider: During his  time in God’s service, Mr. Armstrong came to see that God is a Family—a Family that consists of only two eternal spirit beings presently—God the Father and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ (Mt. 17:5; John 1:1-3, 14; 14:28). But as time went on, Mr. Armstrong also learned that it is this Family’s earnest desire to greatly expand their Family! He came to label that, The Incredible Human Potential (Gen. 1:26; John 6:38-40; Rev. 20:4-6, 11-12).

From that bedrock perspective, Mr. Armstrong—as God’s chosen messenger during the Philadelphia Church era (Mal. 3:1-5; Rev. 3:7-8)—made it his personal responsibility to follow in his Boss’ footsteps — doing exactly as He did and said (Mt. 4:23; 9:35; 16:18; 24:14). As such, he laid the foundation for God’s house and fed His flock as required (Zech. 4:9; 11:7).

And now these many decades later, we KNOWand know that we know—that it was due to his unfailing obedience and persistence that the first half of Zechariah 4:9 was accomplished — the “foundation of God’s house” was successfully laid during his watch!

Sadly, however—as we make very clear in Zechariah and The Signet—we also know that no one else bothered to pick up where he left off after his death in 1986 (Rev. 3:15-17).

Enter the Signet Church of God. We know that it is now our responsibility to pick up where the modern Zerubbabel left off  and to finish God’s house! (Hag. 2:23; Zech. 4:9; 11:15; Mt. 25:6; Rev. 3:20-21).

Are you hearing God‘s cry and knock?

If you are looking for new incentive to get serious about your calling once again, then we would like to recommend that you read, believe, and react to God’s corrective comments  in Revelation 3:15-17. To the 7th Church era God writes:

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” (NKJV)

It’s time to realize that these words are aimed at every single COG member today. Once we do that, then verses like Matthew 25:6 and Revelation 3:20 start to make perfect sense. Think about it: As any loving parent, wouldn’t we rather see our child respond to our corrective warning sooner rather than having to learn the hard way later on? As we see it, Revelation 3:18-21 proves that the God Family thinks the same way.

Just read those verses and see for yourself. We have to see those words as coming from our loving Father who would much rather see us respond to the “cry” and “knock” contained in Zechariah and The Signet now … rather than having to see us endure the Great Tribulation later on. At the same time, however–like any loving parent–if God ends up having to express his loving correction in that “tough love” way (Rev. 3:16), then we’d better realize while we still have time that that will then be the last thing He could do in trying to help us avoid the Lake of Fire. It is our sincere hope that you will take His warning seriously now!
